Students earn two media lab points (six points win a lunch in the lab!) for submitting a paragraph description of the glass that made touch screen possible!
Many of the Baden Academy students have been visiting the Media Lab these first few weeks for a refresher in how to respect and handle the netbook computers. It can be confusing for some of our smaller students to understand why they can’t operate the computer as a touch screen.
Handling our computers with respect is the first of many lessons as all of the students at Baden Academy will be learning to use their computers to create art and write code to shape the technological world.
Sprinkled through the year will be some research challenges. The first, “What is Gorilla Glass?” asks students to research what the locally produced specialty glass that Steve Jobs used for the first iPhone. This optional challenge, a paragraph, can be turned in for the next few weeks.
For inspiration, I leave you with the latest commercial from Corning. Amazing!
